Early December

Here are some recent random pictures: baby shower for my friend Nikki.... Our old house, if you can believe it! There is nothing left of the old house. It was called a 'remodel' to get around city permits. The entry to the garage and lower level is hidden behind that white truck.

Pumpkins Everywhere

Tonight we carved pumpkins and contemplated when the next little pumpkin will arrive.

House before and after pictures

Here is an album of before and after pictures for our house. We are not all moved in and cleaned up yet, but I decided that if I waited for that point to share pictures, it may never happen. So, pardon the boxes and piles around! The punch list is well underway but there are lots of little things left to do. Big thanks to Dad and the boys at Eaglepointe....it was a pleasure bringing our vision to life (and going further into debt) with you!
P.S......No baby progress of real note to share.

Pumpkin Patch

Here are pictures from the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. It was fun! Dillon had been asking to go a lot lately and was adamant Belle should go...he likes to see her pick up and eat her own apples. She had a hay day here.

Smuggling Pumpkins

Lisa and I doing our best to smuggle pumpkins out of the patch....she is 5 days from her c-section and I'm TBD but 3 weeks from due date.

Thank goodness we recruited my parents to help as we wouldn't have made it with toddlers, big bellies, Belle, pumpkins and apples.

seattle-ite no more

Dillon clearly is no longer a Seattle-ite. It rained and he had to have his toys all dry before playing with them.

The Mashed Potato

One Grandmother, who shall remain nameless, likes to buy the annoying greeting cards that play songs over and over for Dillon. Here he dances with his cousins, attempting the mashed potato dance.

Buzzed Blogger

Just in case you weren't sure, Mike was only kidding (and buzzed) posting that our next child will be named Keith Urban Schrock. Now we're all clear! If only we could agree on a boy name...

Snug as a Bug

This past weekend we fixed up Dillon's room into a 'big boy room'. This included paint, new bedding, and taking out the baby furniture. Dillon is very excited about his new room - he keeps calling the bedding 'cozy' and wants his cousin Cody to 'sleep up there' (on the top bunk).
Below are a few pictures, we're still working on curtains,. art, etc. If you come visit, know that you'll likely be invited into the bed to test if out by Dillon!

Pony Ride

We went to a petting zoo recently, which Dillon loved. This pony ride was a highlight. The lowlight might have been Dillon getting mowed down by a big pig who ran by, while simultaneously knocking Dillon's bunny out of his arms. We think the pig and bunny were in cohoots.

Our Railing being fabricated.

House is coming together this week with lots of visible progress, Initial paint cabinets, railing and floor all going in. I got physical and de-scaled the rot iron steal for our custom railing last week. It will be much more finely finished on install tomorrow- mike

Our Old House

Wow...our old house is really changing. Our poor neighbors don't sound too thrilled with all the chaos. We're just glad it isn't us doing all the work.

Sharkie ride

We are back from a relaxing week up in Sandpoint. Loved it and did lots of fun stuff! Here is a picture of Dillon riding a shark. There was a lot of swimming and floating to be had.
The rest of my pictures from the vacation aren't all cooperating but hopefully I'll have them up soon too.

Where is the sun?

The last week our weather has been crappy. Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to despite the clouds. Hopefully the sun will come back when we head to Sandpoint.

HOpefully lots more pictures to follow...depending on how long my little friend naps.

On our mind...

Can't believe it has been a year since we lost our little one. We're grateful for our blessings since last year but will always carry our Julia in our hearts. Here is Mike's sweet poem about it all.

Whirl Hummingbird Whirl

As I lay one night unable to sleep
I say a prayer for the world I keep
But this night sad, I began to ponder
Where do the lost souls of unborn wander?

Are they reborn flowers or trees
Or do they come back fuzzy bumblebees
Thoughts ran through, nothing stuck
Then one whirled into my blackness by luck.

Metallic green wings outlining infinity
This bird was definitely sent from a Divinity
Buzz so calming and grand oculars so cute
Poking and prodding with its now musical flute

Dancing and painting this empty space
Then gone painfully without a trace
I beckoned and reached out and wanted oh more
Then I realized this passage had given me a chore

Send a message of hope and beauty this Fall
The wonder of life is that it happens at all
So when you see hummingbirds take comfort to know
Where the lost Souls of some unborn loved ones go.

Carousel

Here is a trip around the carousel downtown.

Head Dunk

It has been hot lately here in spokane. I caught Dillon doing this the other day....

Where in the world...

have the Schrocks been? busy....that is all i have to say about that. We've been bad bloggers lately but have a good excuse - moving, remodeling, traveling, a toddler with horrible sleep habits. Ugh. So for those of you that I haven't talked to the scoop is that we've been moved into our basement for 3 or so weeks, the upstairs main floor (kitchen, entry, laundry, dining, living, 3 baths, and 2 bedrooms)is being demo'd and remodeled, we're busily designing our new house with my Dad, and Dillon isn't so sure about naps, staying in bed at night, sleeping in his own room, etc, etc. Overall though, we LOVE being in Spokane and our new house.
I have a backlog of pics and videos to post hopefully soon but forgot it all in Spokane and we're in Sandpoint this weekend. Here are a couple pictures from a bbq and rodeo we went to last weekend. Mike couldn't let the occasion pass without totally decking Dillon out in cowboy gear so he'd look like uncle Garth.

Oh yeah, and I'm 26 weeks, doing fine, getting big, slowing down, but the baby appears healthy so that is what counts.

Hodgepodge of Pictures

Here are pictures since we moved. I've been way behind and missing my home computer/picture set up.

Way behind

Apologies on being a really boring blogger these days. Hopefully next week I can post pictures...our home computer is packed/stored still and my camera doesn't 'talk' to our laptops for some reason.
In other news...looks like we'll hopefully close on a house next Thursday or Friday. yeah!
Stay tuned for more pics and video once we are settled.

Missing Alma

We all miss our dear nanny Alma and Dillon blows her kisses in the phone when we talk. Here are some cute pictures from before our move.

June already?!

Wow...where did May go?! Guess time flies when you are moving. Just a quick update before I load up some pictures on the blog. We're still at Gina and Larry's, still looking for a house! Hopefully we'll find our home to be soon. In the meantime, Dillon is just delighted with all the time he is getting with all grandparents. All 4 special buddies with their own routines, jokes, and special treats. Dillon is talking a ton more in the last month and recently blessed us with 'I love you'. It made this little mommy's heart melt. Off to round up some pictures....

Packing Up

Here are some pictures from our packing up over the last few days. We went to Madison Park for a time out and shared lots of giggles with Alma, Dillon's nanny. We'll sure miss our friend Alma and all the fun times she and Dillon had!

Belle's Buzz

Dillon couldn't believe Belle's haircut or that she was the same dog. He spent a day giggling and feeling her very carefully.

Hippity Hop!

Easter pictures a little late:

Where has the time gone?

Wow, where did april go?! It has been a busy month in case we haven't been in touch...our house sold and passed inspection in a week, we move out 5/9 to spokane, and we have no home to call our own in spokane yet. We're scrambling to come up with a plan!
On the kiddo fron, we're 13 weeks pregnant now and all continues to go well. Keeep your fingers crossed. I'm off to see if I have any good pics to post.

As Good as it Gets

Here are some pictures I took today, just before they arrived to take the real estate/Marketing pictures for putting the house on the market. This is the best it has looked in a long time. let's hope all this hard work pays off for a quick sale and decent price. Big thanks to Mike who burned the candle on both ends to make it happen, and then also to our parents and family for helping out.

More house fixing up

Here are some pictures from this past, and hopefully LAST, weekend of working nonstop on the house. Big thanks to my Mom and Dad for coming to help us out, along with a guest taping/painting appearance by the Van Inwegen family. We got a lot done and had a little fun along the way.

Same Old, Same Old

Nothing really new to report from the Schrocks. The house projects continue....I'll post pictures soon. The basement is about finished being painted. My Mom and Dad are coming this weekend to help with final spruce up.
In other news, Dillon continues to make progress on the potty training. Yeah! He has gone a couple times in the last few times we've tried. No is also a very popular word these days in Dillon's vocabulary. Is this a glimpse of life with a 2 year old? Guess we can only wait and see.
Cheers!

Big Thanks!

A big thanks goes out to Gina and Larry for helping us, well mostly Mike, all weekend on the basement. It was an enormous help and would have taken Mike so much longer alone. Here are a few pictures along the way.

Total Chaos

Nothing new to post from the Schrock household....we've been under construction literally at home. We had to move out of the whole main floor temporarily and haven't even been online much. Wood floors in the whole house are being refinished and the whole kitchen has been painted. Next up, fix the chimney, paint the basement, paint the outside. Whew! We haven't lived in the whole upstairs since Wednesday and this little lady is getting really tired of the mess, dust and lack of sanity. Hopefully today and tomorrow we should be getting back into the upstairs and a little more routine. Dillon is a trooper, but this mess is wearing on his temperment, sleep, and appetite. Pictures to come when I have more time!

Potty Talk

Big news at the Schrock house tonight - Dillon went pee in his potty for the first time! We were pretty proud of him, but Dillon was clearly the happiest of us all over his accomplishment. He walked around proud, happy, and giggly all evening afterwards. We've been giving M&Ms as a reward for sitting/trying and he loved his handful he earned...eating them all at once and drooling blue goo down his chin. Yeah Dillon!

Ian Charles Van Inwegen

Check out what the stork delivered on Thursday. What a cutie pie! We thought Dillon was pretty cute, of course, but little Ian is charmer. Welcome!!! Jackie and Andy are already fantastic parents.
