Cabo Wabo

Cabo was a hot, relaxing break. We had a great time with Pops & Nunu - thanks for all the hospitality and babysitting!! What did we do on vacation??...golfed a lot, swam with dolphins, read, swam, snorkeled, saw geckos/lizards and one giant tarantula, ate too much, saw my cousins the Flicks, and relaxed. Our trip home was eventful too - the plane taking off in front of us caught fire and crash landed - no casualties thankfully, then Dillon had a major diaper blowout that spilled onto Mike and left little Dillon pantless for the flight home. Poor Mike had to deal with it all as I wasn't feeling so hot from the turbulence. Needless to say, we were glad to make it home to bed. Here are the unabridged vacation pics.

Go Irish

Well, the Irish came to town last weekend and showed the Huskies a little about ND football. Mike was out of town for work, so it made dressing Dillon much easier! Otherwise, there could have been a serious tug of war on which school Dillon supported. I did manage to mix in a little Husky gear but clearly Dillon was a big fan of Notre Dame football. Can't wait to take him to the old South Bend and show him touchdown Jesus.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

I'm a bit behind on my pics and videos this week so i thought I'd just write a quick note. Dillon is 18 months now. he weighed 25 lbs at his checkup putting him at 45% in weight and 90th percentile in height. Lately Mike and I have had a lot of chats about what we should and shouldn't be teaching Dillon. For example, burps might be funny now when Dad does them at home, but not so cute in public at preschool class. For some reason, Mike got the idea to teach Dillon to slap me on the butt whenever i'm changing or naked. So now Dillon waits around for me to change or sneaks up and yells 'Daa' while spanking me. It is hard not to laugh but I'm just waiting to see when Dillon springs that on someone else in public. Mike will have some explaining to do!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a busy weekend as we took Dillon to his first Husky game. He did pretty well and lasted for the first half. Today we went to the pumpkin patch with the Doyles.

New Puppy

Check out our new Bernese Mtn Dog pup...Mike always said he wanted to breed and raise these. This counts, right?

Fall Pictures

Here are some pictures mostly of a recent outing at the park with the Doyles. Dillon can't wait for Theo to get a little bigger so they can play more.

Ladies Lookout

Do you think these two heartbreakers will be as much trouble as their Daddys? Let's hope they are sweet to the ladies and don't get in too much trouble on the Queen Anne Ave in about 20 years. For now, we'll let them raise hell at the park. Theo is very charming with the ladies while his sidekick Dillon has a little pinching phase going on...and no he isn't pinching hineys, more like noses and faces.

Like Father Like Son

Mike and Dillon are a lot alike! Dillon got his haircut today and they resemble each other even more now. Here are the boys playing. Mike loves to run around naked too but we'll refrain from videotaping that.

Grandparents

Grandparents are the best. Dillon was lucky enough to see both sets this weekend and boy did he enjoy it! Grandpa Larry and Pops are really cool right now and like seeing all the cool boy things - rocks, tools, machines. Nunu and Grandma Gina give fantastic hugs and take good care of their little man. I missed my picture moment with the Schrock Grandparents, but here is a cute one with Pops and Nunu. Dillon was pretty excited about his new kicks from Nunu.

Sep 28 2008 - VID00037

Another uneventful video...what can we say, we're proud parents.

Sep 29 2008 - VID00038

Here are a couple not so exciting videos but it is all I've got lately.

schrock headlines

Dillon went to Children's today to visit his friends in the neurosurgery group. They did a CT of his head and we're glad to report the repair of his skull fracture looks great and they gave him a clean bill of health. Yeah! We're grateful for his health. Since I never seem to write much on this blog, let's see what else Dillon is up to....running, saying "go go go", occasional tantrums, a cold, loves anything outside, fantastic hugs/kisses, and as always making Mike and I laugh all day. And us big kids are doing ok too. Mike is busy as usual and a fantastic partner, friend, daddy. Each week gets a little better for me but I never know what might set me off into many tears. I started working at a new client today, Speakeasy, so the change of pace will be good. That's all for now.

Bubbles

The big hit in preschool this week was bubbles. It was sweet to see how much joy and excitement these one year olds got out of little bubbles. Oh to be so easily entertained...

Recent Pictures

Here are some recent pics from Darin and Catherine's wedding, along with a few more pre-school shots.

Dillon is healing well, but has a little scar that makes him look a bit evil.  We are hoping it fades.-mike

Pre-school Already?

Dillon had his first day of 'pre-school' this week. He loved it and his favorite part was the dancing and music. Mike has taught him a churn the butter dance move that Dillon tried out on his new classmates. Additionally, Dillon kissed a curly haired little blonde girl three times. She wasn't too sure about his kisses or the 'mmmmaa' kissy sound effect that came with them! Looks like D will love this little set up...he wasn't afraid at all.
